Michael Dermer is a renowned speaker, author and entrepreneur authority – and an entrepreneur at heart. Michael is known for seeking ideas that act as “oxygen” – that breathe life into movements. His first well-known entrepreneurial venture, IncentOne, was the first company to introduce rewards and incentives to drive consumer and provider behavior more than a decade ago – long before rewards for healthy behavior were in vogue. Today, health rewards are everywhere and helps to energize consumers and providers to improve health. In some circles Michael is considered the founder of the health rewards movement. Michael’s company was sold to industry innovator Welltok in 2013. Michael’s latest venture is The Lonely Entrepreneur® - whose mission is to unlock the potential of entrepreneurs worldwide by turning their passion into success. Steeped in Michael’s experience leading IncentOne through bootstrapping, the financial crisis and the uncertainty of ObamaCare, The Lonely Entrepreneur is designed to be a single destination that provides entrepreneurs with the answers they need to all the personal and business issues they face from someone who has been in their shoes. In addition to the well-received book (which is now available in multiple countries throughout the world), The Lonely Entrepreneur has built an extensive online learning platform designed to eliminate the need for entrepreneurs to search the world for answers to the key personal and business issues that all entrepreneurs must learn. The learning platform is designed not only to help entrepreneurs, but to help the entrepreneur ecosystems throughout the world (governments, universities, companies, incubators, accelerators, workspaces) provide a framework for entrepreneurs to learn in a scalable environment. Michael appears on national and international media including MSNBC, CBS, ABC, The Huffington Post, Sirius Radio, Voice America and numerous national and international television, radio and internet channels and is a sought-after speaker in the entrepreneur community. Prior to founding IncentOne, Mr. Dermer was a mergers and acquisitions attorney with Willkie Farr & Gallagher, a New York law firm. He is a graduate of Bucknell University and of Northwestern University School of Law.
