About
The CIE provides space for proof-of-concept work, business incubation, collaboration opportunities, and programming for new ventures created by UChicago faculty, students, and staff, as well as local community entrepreneurs. Our partnerships connect emerging entrepreneurs from on and off campus with Chicago’s broader innovation ecosystem and drive the creation of new businesses, jobs, and economic activity in the city and surrounding region. The CIE brings together the University’s distinctive strengths in research and resources from a network of world-class entrepreneurship programs to drive innovation in a range of areas, translating scientific discoveries into scalable solutions to difficult societal problems. We incubate 10-20 start-ups at a time, and more than 1,900 members utilize our co-working space, gathering places, and meeting rooms. Membership is open to neighborhood entrepreneurs, students just getting started, faculty looking to spin out technology they've researched, and anyone else interested in being a part of a community of individuals working to build, innovate, grow, accelerate, and create.Relevant People
