About
Suzanne Muchin is the Principal and Lead Strategist for Mind + Matter Studio, a communication firm that connects big ideas to their markets. With her long time business partner, Rachel Bellow, she is also the co-host of the podcast The Big Payoff. Obsessed with figuring out the path from here to there for concepts that will change the world, she’s launched 8 companies — including several with business partner and best friend, Rachel Bellow. Together, Rachel and Suzanne have advised some of America’s most prominent leaders in business, philanthropy, venture capital, sports and academia. They created The Big Payoff so their experience could pay off for others — to help everyday entrepreneurs make their big ideas realities.
Prior to serial entrepreneurship, Suzanne was the Vice President of National Programs at Teach for America and later, the CEO at Civitas, a marketing and communications company founded by the former president of Harpo Entertainment. In 2012, she was inducted into the Chicago Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and is a frequent public speaker and guest lecturer at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Currently, she serves as a member of the Wexner Heritage Foundation and as both a member of the Board of Advisors and Board of Directors of the Chicago Children’s Museum. Suzanne also mentors Chicago entrepreneurs at 1871, Impact Engine and TechStars. She runs marathons as a way to get a break from raising five children and a dog.
