My experience working as a physician with the University of Chicago inspired me to co-found Engaged Health Solutions (EHS). Will Harper, a colleague at U of C, and I were constantly impressed by the changes our patients were making to their health and well-being—and how those changes were impacting their lives. We saw that with support, education and guidance, people have a great capacity for change.
We founded EHS to bring that high-level of personalized care to larger populations. Since launching the company in 2009, we have advised companies about how to best support their employees and delivered health and well-being education and face-to-face coaching to hundreds of people. Our results have been dramatic. While EHS is my primary focus, I still see patients at the University of Chicago's Program for Personalized Health & Prevention and work as a Team Physician for the Chicago Blackhawks.
