Since founding the firm in 2011 with his Partner, Christina, Matthew has represented a diverse range of clients in both transactional and litigation matters. In his transactional practice, Matthew focuses on startup formation and complex transactions. He has assisted a number of founders and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries with the foundation of their businesses, including the structuring of ownership, the drafting of partners’/founders’ agreements, and the drafting of important foundational corporate documents. Additionally, Matthew has experience negotiating and facilitating the purchase and sale of businesses and assets, equity transactions, and licenses for Intellectual Property. Matthew has also represented numerous clients in all stages of commercial litigation matters ranging from breach of contract claims to breach of fiduciary duty claims and disputes over equity ownership. He has been named an “Emerging Lawyer” in Illinois for Closely & Privately Held Business Representation as well as Commercial Litigation, a recognition earned by the top 2% of attorneys in the Illinois under 40 years old in their areas of practice. Matthew received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University and his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law.
