About

Mark Domitrovich grew up in Deerfield, Illinois and graduated from the University of Kansas. Establishing a passion for entrepreneurship at an early age, he sold knives and managed his own organization for Vector Marketing while pursuing his undergraduate education. Responsible for hiring, training, and maintaining his own sales force, Domitrovich was the recipient of the prestigious Vector Marketing college scholarship, granted to a full-time student with the highest sales in the United States. Upon graduation, he founded a successful promotional products business. Alongside finding creative ways to work for himself, Domitrovich also held a variety of positions within the hospitality industry. An opportunity to combine his entrepreneurial spirit with his love of hospitality lead him to the purchase of beloved institution, Lottie’s Pub, in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood in 2002. The successful revival of Lottie’s energized Domitrovich to pursue more properties throughout the city, leading him to the quiet West Lakeview neighborhood hangout Gunther Murphy’s. The space was re-concepted, and in 2008 opened as The Pony Inn. Quickly following, in 2010, Domitrovich opened Frontier - his first food-focused concept. With Chef Brian Jupiter at the helm, Frontier has pioneered whole animal and wild game dining in Chicago, receiving an abundance of recognition and praise for it’s unique concept. Additionally, in the summer of 2015, all Pioneer Tavern Group concepts were adapted for United Center dining and drinking through the Chicago’s Plate and Chicago Pours programs. Outside of his work managing Pioneer Tavern Group, Domitrovich sits on the board of Equestrian Connection, an Illinois-based non-for-profit that provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with disabilities. A self-proclaimed “adrenaline junkie”, in his spare time Domitrovich can be found competing year-round in the equestrian jumper circuit, enjoying outdoor activities, and traveling.
