About

Mahesh Patel, the man behind the Universal Whisky Experience’s Nth Event and Sirius – a line of premium whisky’s, is the ultimate whisky collector and connoisseur. Patel, 50, was born in Uganda and at an early age fled with his family as refugees to England. Here he discovered his early passion for building and creating. What started with a love of Lego’s became a successful career as a construction engineer. As an adult, Patel moved with his wife to the United States, settling in Atlanta and living out the American Dream developing, building and managing commercial projects in Southeastern United States. During his travels throughout the US and, later Scotland, Patel developed a passion for Whisky, particularly Scotch and Single Malts. He has amassed one of the most recognized collections of fine and rare expressions that includes a large range of Macallans, Dalmores, Glenfiddich, Springbanks, Ardbegs, Bowmore, Port Ellen, Rare Bourbons, some Irish, Brora, and Highland Park and may others. He decided to share this passion for whisky and the craftsmanship behind it, bringing to life the well-respected Universal Whisky Experience’s Nth Event. Now in its’ 7th year, this high-end, 3-day event brings together serious whisky connoisseurs and luxury spirits consumers to savor and share the best the industry has to offer. Following the success of this show and his quest for the finest whisky, Mahesh launched Sirius in 2011. This line of fine whisky was developed to be the finest the world has ever tasted. Mahesh regularly visits distilleries and shares his love and knowledge of collecting with other whisky connoisseurs. His philosophy is that it’s not only the craftsmanship that makes a whisky special – it’s the people you share it with.
