For more than 25 years, Kathleen Kenehan Henson has enjoyed a diverse career in PR and marketing, working with some of the country’s most recognizable companies and brands. With unequaled energy, charisma and drive, Kathleen expertly and instinctually connects people, events and ideas to create big media moments that generate impactful, lasting buzz. Owner of her nationally-acclaimed PR firm based in Chicago, Agency H5, Kathleen is constantly and organically growing her infinite, personal arsenal of contacts. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Purdue University and former SVP at Edelman, Kathleen started her first company, Henson Consulting, in 2001 to reinvent the modern agency and to provide clients with strategic counsel, unparalleled creativity and tangible results. In January 2018, she began a new chapter with the launch of Agency H5 with a commitment to “Always Lead with Kindness”. Her firm was named national Small Agency of the Year by PR News in 2012 and 2014 and a Best Place to Work by PR News in 2014, and today Agency H5 generates daily high-profile media hits for clients in a variety of the world’s most reputable outlets. A proud mother of five children, Kathleen counts HC as her sixth baby, and is thrilled with its tremendous growth and success over the past 17 years. In 2014, Kathleen was named PR Professional of the Year by PRSA Chicago and among Top Women in PR by PR News in 2015. She was invited to be a guest on NBC's TODAY show in summer 2015 to talk about her focus on kindness and happiness. In 2017, Kathleen was named a Distinguished Alumni by Purdue University’s College of Liberal Arts and also co-founded the International Council of Purdue Women. In 2018, she was featured in the international book Kindness in Leadership (Gay Haskins) from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford. Kathleen volunteers her time to a number of causes including Breakthrough Urban Ministries, the Joffrey Ballet's Women's Board and the board of the Ross K. MacNeill Foundation funding research for pediatric brain cancer. She is a contributor to NBC News, Chicago Woman Magazine, regularly guest lectures on the PR industry and entrepreneurship and has been featured in PR News, the Holmes Report and PRWeek.
