A twenty year industry veteran, Jim currently oversees the production, sales and marketing efforts for Backpack Wine.Out of school Jim went to work for Richard Melman’s Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, managing several restaurants while helping to design thoughtful and profitable beverage programs across the company.
Eventually the beverage industry led him to the Terlato family’s Pacific Wine and Spirits, at that time the leading fine wine distributor in Chicago. Here Jim managed the Chicago Metro market, helping to establish a variety of fine wine brands with his team of salespeople.
Eight years of sales management and a merger with Southern Wine and Spirits later, he found himself on the supplier side of the business, first with Jordan Winery and then at Far Niente.
For ten years, Jim used his relationships and business acumen to manage the growth of Nickel & Nickel, Far Niente and Dolce and channeled his fine wine passion to help create and launch two new wineries for his former employer - En Route and Bella Union.
His latest effort includes the creation of a new beverage company – Source Code Beverage and two new brands – Backpack Wine and SR 262. Available across the US, Canada, Hong Kong and the Caribbean, Source Code Beverage products look to broaden the wine experience by offering high quality wine, flexible packaging and reasonable pricing.
Jim resides in the Chicago area with his wife Amy and their twin sons.
