Recognizing the need for real-life connections between women at similar life stages who share common interests and location, Peanut is designed to give women a network. Peanut views motherhood as an adventure in the life of a woman; the best chapter in her book, but not the only one. Every step of Peanut is geared toward making it simple to reach out and connect in a friendly and accessible way. The app utilizes machine learning and a smart algorithm to personalize the experience for each user and match mamas based on commonalities. Users simply swipe up to give a mama a wave to spark a conversation, and when another mama waves back, the app highlights their shared interests to provide a meaningful starting point for an interaction. Users can also create group chats within the app to start broader conversations, create meetups and send polls to easily find the best time that works for everyone. (No easy feat for a group of busy mamas!) From there users can send invites and add them directly to your calendar. The beautifully designed, easy-to-use iOS app speaks to a generation of women who expect to be recognized for everything they are, including mothers.
