About
While exercise is good for everyone, trying to teach exercise to those with autism usually ends in frustration and failure. That is because those with autism learn differently and have sensory challenges, especially in the loud and chaotic atmosphere of a gym. ExerciseBuddy (EB), a visual exercise system, combines evidence-based visual classroom strategies with technology. This solution allows users to focus and exercise in all environments. EB has been celebrated for its ability to empower teachers, professionals and parents to finally teach exercise to those on the autism spectrum.EB was developed through the combined effort of individuals with autism and the insights of a dedicated group of professionals with frontline experience. Deploying the untapped use of technology, the results are stunning. EB has been adopted and researched by 12 universities across the U.S., has 4 supporting research studies, and has the largest school district in the US – New York City District 75 – is piloting the program. Schools, professionals, and families around the world have enthusiastically embraced EB.
