About

As chief executive officer, Jim Ryan defines the overall vision and strategy and drives execution for the company’s global operations. Prior to becoming the company’s CEO, Jim was the company’s chief operating officer where he was chartered with leading Flexera Software's worldwide sales team, ensuring operational alignment and driving organizational development and leadership. Jim has been affiliated with the business since 1998. Prior to becoming chief operating officer, Jim was senior vice president of worldwide sales where he led consistent and strong revenue growth. Previously, while located in the UK, Jim served as the general manager for Macrovision's EMEA region and led the global Macrovision software business unit sales team. Also during his tenure with Macrovision, he led the company's services, technical support, operations and pre-sales teams. In 2008 Jim helped lead the spinoff of Macrovision's Software Business Unit to the private equity firm of Thoma Bravo, which launched the Flexera Software brand. Jim joined Macrovision in 2004 when he helped sell InstallShield® Software Corporation to Macrovision. At the time, Jim was senior vice president of international sales and operations based in the United Kingdom. Previously, Jim was regional sales director with Reliant Data Systems (acquired by Compuware Corporation) responsible for both direct and OEM sales. Jim was also director of channel sales at Unison Software (acquired by Tivoli Systems) where he spearheaded the channel program for its distributed systems management solutions group. Jim began his career at IBM Corporation. Jim earned a bachelor's degree of arts from Marquette University where he studied International Political Science and French.
