Dr. Emad Rizk

About

Emad Rizk, M.D., joined Accretive Health in July 2014 as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. To that role he brings more than 25 years of experience working with payers, hospital systems, government, physicians and pharmaceutical companies. He previously served as president of McKesson Health Solutions, a business unit of McKesson Corporation that delivers industry-leading clinical evidence and expert technology to help Payers and Providers collaborate for better healthcare outcomes at lower costs. Under Dr. Rizk’s leadership, McKesson Health Solutions became one of the significant leaders in the healthcare industry. Before joining McKesson in 2003, Dr. Rizk served as senior partner and global director, medical management/pharmacy for Deloitte Consulting. While at Deloitte Consulting, he led the Company’s medical cost and quality management practice across all practices. Prior to that, he was a member of the Monsanto Corporation serving as the Associate Medical Director and then Worldwide Medical Director. Dr. Rizk was a member of the board of DMAA: Care Continuum Alliance, and is currently a board member of National Association for Hispanic Health, Manage Care Editorial, and Accretive Health, Inc. He also holds advisory roles with UM Advisory Council, University of North Texas. He has previously served on the National Clinical Advisory Board and National Quality Review Board. A Senior Scholar professor at Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Rizk’s work has been widely published in medical journals and medical books. His book, The New Era of Healthcare: Practical Strategies for Providers and Payers, focuses on ways that providers and payers can work together to reduce costs while improving efficiency and patient care. In 2013, Modern Physician named Dr. Rizk one of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives in the United States,” the fifth time he has been recognized by this publication. Modern Healthcare has listed him among the “Top 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” while Managed Healthcare Executive named him to its “Top 25 Leaders in Disease Management.” He is a lecturer at Wharton, Harvard, MIT, Columbia, and the Kellogg School of Management.
