Give Work That’s Slightly Above Someone’s Ability

watch now

David Lynam wasn’t finding fulfillment in working for larger law firms – so he decided to start his own practice, Lynam & Associates, that focuses on helping individual clients. Lynam wanted an intersection of the different cultures he had encountered working for both large and small law firms over the breadth of his career. He discusses some of the challenges that he has faced in starting his own practice, including modernization of technology and the slow uptake that most law firms have with new technologies. His advice to young lawyers is to have a good sense of ethics, and find employment that holds ethics to high standards and does not let their employees work in a moral “gray area.” Law is, after all, mostly about ethics.
