Jim Wong, CEO & Founder of Brilliant™, is a certified public accountant (Inactive) and has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting and staffing industries. In 2009, Jim founded Brilliant, a search, staffing and management resources firm specializing in accounting, finance and IT for the greater Chicago and south Florida markets. In April 2016, Jim was selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the newly formed, non-partisan Illinois Business and Economic Development Corporation (ILBEDC). The ILBEDC was created by Governor Bruce Rauner (IL-Rep.) to assist the Department of Commerce in executing economic development through a new approach. Prior to Brilliant, Jim co-founded and led Chicago's largest, independently-owned finance and accounting staffing company, which successfully sold to a NYSE staffing company in 2006. Jim graduated from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. After passing the CPA exam, Jim joined Ernst & Young where he performed audits for client companies within manufacturing, real estate, financial services and insurance. He then joined Robert Half International, becoming an award-winning recruiter and manager. Wong is an active member of the Illinois CPA Society, the NIU Department of Accountancy Board of Advisors, and was a board member of the Northern Illinois Executive Club. He was named NIU 2003-2004 Outstanding Young Alumnus.
