Gregg Berliant, co-owner of Gentle Home Services, says he and his brother were motivated to start the business after searching for care for their own father. Twenty-five years later, Gentle Home Services provides care for patients living with Parkinson’s, congestive heart failure, stroke rehabilitation, and dementia. According to Gregg, in the next 5 years anyone over 85 years old has a 50% chance of having some sort of dementia. While technology – such as medi-alerts and monitoring – is changing the home healthcare landscape, it shouldn’t replace compassion and personal care.
