Big Sweetener Taste, Tiny Carbon Footprint
watch now04/15/2016
Stevia, a small green plant native to Paraguay, has been been used by locals for centuries to sweeten beverages. Jason Hecker, President of the Commercial Division of PureCircle, explains that being vertically integrated – from leaf to finished product – means having the control to monitor the impact the company has on public health, communities, and the environment. Studies of PureCircle’s water and carbon footprint show it uses just a fraction of the resources of other natural sweeteners like sugar. With over 5,000 products launched around the world, Stevia is becoming a mainstream sweetener.
