With a fearless approach to change, D’Rita Robinson embraces the unknown and has held the role of chemist, event planner, stay-at-home mom and most recently: social impact entrepreneur. Today, she is the Founder of Chatty Guest, an educational tool. The free app allows educators and non-profit organizations to create monitored networking opportunities for participants. It provides digital support in and out of the classroom, to facilitate collaborative discussions. The app facilitates Q & A discussions among small groups of people, for high-levels of engagement. The intention is to create networking opportunities, collaboration, mentorship and global dialogue. To date, the social impact app has been downloaded in more than 51 countries. Ms. Robinson’s background in science and creativity intersected to create the app, when she sought a way to quickly connect friends and strangers alike. She wanted a way to use technology to connect people around topics or discussions that promote inspiration and change. The purpose was to build a digital community of people working to positively impact the world. In addition to her role as CEO, Robinson dedicates her free time to organizations in line with her mission and values. She is the founder of First2go (www.first2go.com). First2go is a site dedicated to helping first generation college students succeed. Robinson, along with her husband, believes in the power of philanthropy and the pair dedicates their time and finances to help organizations centered around education, women and children.
